I had an opportunity to join a yoga and kirtan group hosted by Jeenal at Away retreat resort. The yoga sessions were led by Jeenal and the kirtan session were led by Brian and Serena, the travelling musicians from Italy. Jeenal is truly a wonderful teacher, very kind and insightful. We started the day with some games to connect with our inner child and get to learn more about fellow participants in the group. Then we had a gentle yoga session to stretch some muscles and connect with our bodies. For lunch, we had a 4-course vegan lunch, which was very healthy and delicious. Following lunch, we had a yoga nidra and pranayama session for digestive system and nervous reset. She also prepared some herbal tea for us during the break, which was so refreshing. We ended the day with a kirtan circle, singing and dancing together. After a soft and heartfelt day, I felt rejuvenated and couldnt've asked for a better way to spend my Sunday. Thank you Jeenal!

I'm pleased to find this yoga session, I have done a few group meditations with breath work, then some yoga sessions with two other different teachers who offer open classes, and also tried to follow another yoga teachers online, none of these experiences striked me to keep putting more into it. I don't really feel comfortable with a large group of people in colorful yoga pants while the teacher is aiming at achieving posts, didn't feel calm that way, and at the other guided meditation sessions, I didn't feel easy to be put on the spot to share, one session caught me off guard for fitting into the flow of sharing bad experiences, for the online learning I didn't feel the connection there. None of these is the case with Jeenal's sessions, it is gentle and peaceful here, the breathing work showed my way out from my intensed body, and I could actually talk with people a little bit without over evaluating. What keeps me going back to Jeenal class are these reasons: 1. A small group of students, five or six people. 2. A well tuned structure of yoga breath work integrated with mild stretches for beginners. 3. Explanations on each of the yoga exercises and modified version for the needs of each student. We had a lady who had legs pain and she got extra care on how to join in with us by sitting on a comfortable chair. 4. An experienced teacher Jeenal who observes your needs and will check if you're doing too much instead of pushing you into a post. 5. It is always something to learn when the time to ask questions, yoga related philosophy will be integrated into the exercises. But it is not forced lecture, only when some related questions get asked by someone. In a way it's safe ground to interact with people you see the first time. 6. Sessions take place in a nice resort with free vegan Khaosoi and the lunch break is also meditating. 7. Jeenal has a calming voice and manner, and her ballad and chanting brings me home feeling. Guilded meditation part chim in very well,it is not too long for students to lose track in their own thinking. I'd say I'm lucky to find a real yoga teacher, it's a beautiful journey to restart yoga with Jeenal.
