GoogleOcean air yoga is amazing - excellent teachers, beautiful space, and using the suspended silks means you can do so much more than a regular yoga class. I’ve really improved my strength, co ordination, flexibility and it’s great for stress management. Plus it’s fun!
The restore ariel class was unlike any other yoga practice i have experienced. It allowed me to soften and deepen into stillness, with gentle yet dynamic movements, helping to release built up stagnant energy. The yogi's guiding the journey are beautiful souls and the location is surrounded with beauty. Highly reccommend!
What a wonderful experience all around! The Monastery is so gorgeous and peaceful and Misty is a truly exceptional yoga instructor and human. I have taken two classes so far (Intro and Restore) and loved both. I will be returning as often as possible!
What I love about aerial yoga at Ocean Air Yoga: It’s enjoyable and often doesn’t feel like exercise. It’s a unique workout that can’t be found at just any gym. There are relaxing classes and active classes to choose from. The relaxing classes involve lots of stretching with the silk low to the floor and lots of slow movements. The active classes have the silk at waist height and these involve lots of cardio and strength movements, but they are a lot of fun. There are a variety of moves to keep me interested from lying on the floor to standing in the silk and everything in between. You get to hang upside down like a monkey! Great for those of us with ADHD! Classes are mixed up with different routines. You can choose stillness or movement depending on what your needs are. Being in the silk is a nurturing sensory experience. You don’t have to bring anything except a drink bottle. You have your own silk, mat and space. They have free street parking out the front. We have calming meditation at the end (and sometimes the start) of most classes. There are different teachers who each have their unique way of teaching. They provide supportive equipment like mats, bolsters, pillows, blankets to improve comfort. It’s a calm, welcoming atmosphere where everyone is acknowledged and greeted. I find it easier than traditional yoga. There are women of different shapes and sizes and it’s a really friendly environment, however you can socialise as much or as little as you like, as we all have our ‘on’ and ‘off’ days. Everyone is encouraged to listen to their body and if you don’t want to do a move you can do an alternative. There are some days when I can flip into an inversion easily and hold it for a while, then there are days when I know that going upside down is not a good idea for me and that’s okay. Sometimes the silk can feel a bit pinchy, especially in the first few weeks/months, but the supportive equipment can help with that and it improves as you continue. They also run sound baths, kids classes and are starting to run other classes like aerial fit, dance and a homeschooling kids class. It's such a nurturing practice in a safe environment with kind gentle souls and the movement is so good for calming my mind and nervous system, which I really need as I get overwhelmed and stressed easily!
A Truly Restorative Experience at Ocean Air Yoga I recently took my team to Ocean Air Yoga for a staff day, and we had the absolute pleasure of experiencing their Restore Aerial Yoga class — it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, the peaceful energy of the space embraced us, and any lingering stress began to melt away. The session itself was beautifully guided — gentle, calming, and deeply relaxing. Every member of our team felt nurtured and grounded, held in both the silks and the serene atmosphere. The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely present, creating a sense of safety and tranquility that allowed us to fully let go and be in the moment. The Monastery, where the studio is located, is breathtaking — a truly sacred space that enhances the entire experience. Surrounded by beauty and stillness, it felt like a true retreat from the everyday — a chance to reconnect with ourselves and with each other. We all left feeling more centred, calm, and connected. I cannot recommend Ocean Air Yoga highly enough for anyone looking to replenish their mind, body, and soul. A heartfelt thank you to the team for holding such a beautiful space. We will absolutely be back!
