This is a place where ancient wisdom meets modern compassion, and where every person who walks through the door is met with care, respect, and an open heart.
I felt so welcomed on my first visit to the Sunday service. There was a lot of ceremony and unspoken rules but they walked me through it and was made to feel welcome. Most of the time was spent meditating so I know how to do that. I'll be back next week!
This is a beautiful sangha and very welcoming community. I have participated online for years. The two sensei are deeply committed to helping everyone on their path. Now and through the end of this life. They regularly offer a 3 month “Commit to Sit” and a wonderful New Year’s Eve Sit that are incredible to participate in. Best way to end the old year and bring in the New.
This place is incredible!!!! The Foundations course is all about ending the suffering of others. Which is all about ending our own suffering. Many parallels and intersections with ending oppression through dissimilating the dominance of white, heteronormative, imperialist prophecy. Bodhisattva.
I have been attending NYZC by Zoom for awhile now, especially for their Commit To Sit practices. Their programming and ease of access is fantastic and I am grateful to have found them!
Just participated in a Zoom mid-day mediation with others who were so welcoming, thoughtful, and kind. Grateful for this center!
