Description
Rejuvenation Workshop
This special workshop has been designed to open the energy channels of the body, revitalising, balancing and uplifting the natural flow of prana (life energy) and good feelings.
The body and mind harbour tensions and knots. Every mental knot has a corresponding physical and muscular knot and vise versa. Hatha Yogis found that certain specific body positions (asanas/postures) open the energy channels, integrating and harmonising the body and mind. Asanas release mental tension by dealing with them on the physical level.
The Workshop begins with asana practice. The joints are mobilised, lubricated, the digestive system is strengthened - improving energy flow and blockages in the spine are released. Specific asanas activate the heart and lungs and improve the endocrine function, to help balance hormones. The asanas are helpful for stiff back and pelvic organs and muscles.
Pranayama Breathing practices follow Asana (physical practice), I will instruct two breathing practices which help redirect the energy flow (prana) throughout the body and assist with healing. One tranquilizing breath practice and one stimulating.
Hasta Mudras Have fun exploring hand gestures! The prana (life energy) emitted by the hands is redirected back into the body. The mudras have been used for healing in eastern cultues for centuries. They can also be activated during meditation. The energy flow through the meridians is stimulated, stress reduces, 'feel good' hormones increase, brain activity is stimulated and inner strength is generated.
The 18 ITIES A talk on the ITIES, with focus on the first - Serenity. By becoming aware of and letting go of certain emotional and mental reactions and responses, we can find peace within ourselves (handout given).
Yoga Nidra Physical and mental rest 'psychic sleep' and Meditation practice conclude the day.
An easy to follow and understand meditiation practice which you can incorporate into your life is explained and practiced.
Please consider coming to this special workshop. Early bird discount to 5th Oct $65.00
YOGA CLASS -
Men and Women all ages adult (students high school) Beginners most welcome to any class.
Beginners or new to class please come 10 mins before class begins.
Please feel free to call me for any inquiries or just come to class,
I look forward to meeting you.
I have a love of yoga, the practice and the many benefits it has to offer. I went to a few classes in my late teens, then from my thirties I was able to practice regularly. I found that my yoga class gave me a special time for myself, strengthened me physically, enabled me to relax and become more flexible, mentally too.
My daughter Anna is a yoga teacher. Seeing her satisfaction as a teacher inspired me to train and share the gift of yoga with others.
Yoga helps with posture and core strength. The class includes breathing awareness practices which help with mindfulness, being in the present and connecting to calm feelings. The class concludes with time for relaxation.
BENEFITS OF REGULAR YOGA PRACTICE
All yoga practice is for maintaining the spine.
With regular practice you can:
become stronger
relieve fatigue, mental and physical
increase joint and muscle flexibility
strengthen your heart, improve posture
reduce mental stress and anxiety
assist recovery after strain/muscle restriction/injury
have some 'me' time
increase your feeling of healthy well-being
The class includes breathing awareness practices, pranayama and relaxation.
The asanas (postures) focus on balancing, strengthening or stimulating the different systems of the body, such as: balancing the endocrine (hormone) system, strengthening the cardio vascular and respiratory systems, stimulating the immune and lymphatic systems and building strength in the muscles and to increase flexibility.
Inversions and balances help with stability, strength, self confidence and feelings of well being.
My class is friendly.
Come with an open mind, be prepared to have a laugh, enjoy some challenges, release your cares and responsibilities for a short time and find those special, so peaceful moments, as we move into stillness through yoga.
