Google"Finally completed my 10-day Vipassana course. This was my 3rd course after 15 years. My only advice to new students is: don’t lose hope if you don’t feel any sensations right away when the training begins. For some, it happens during the first course, for others it may take time. Personally, I truly experienced the sensations this time on my 3 rd course, after starting with a few days of Anapana practice and then moving into Vipassana. A few tips I would like to share for those attending: Once inside the Dhamma boundaries, keep your thoughts within the area—avoid thinking outside of it it will effect your focus. During tea breaks, don’t get lost in the beauty of the mountains. Admiring them may feel tempting, but it can distract your mind and make concentration harder. Eat moderately—just ½ or ¾ of a bowl depending on your appetite. Eating too little may make you weak and will make difficult to sleep properly , but eating too much will make meditation difficult and also makes volunteers to check on your bowl how much you are eating. Stay hydrated—start drinking plenty of water at least a month before the course. If possible, start practicing the lotus position a month or two before attending, gradually increasing your sitting time to at least an hour. Most important dont miss the morning Mangal metta chanting from 6-6:30am. Even if you meditate from your own room go to main hall or pagoda to listen. The true essence of Vipassana lies not in the number of courses completed nor in the role of being a teacher, but in the transformation of one’s heart. To live with compassion, free from ego, jealousy, and hatred, is the real fruit of the practice. Without embodying these qualities, the technique remains incomplete. Vipassana is a path meant to guide us toward inner peace and, through that, to contribute to a more harmonious world. Stay patient, stay steady, and the results will come.
Completing my first 10-day Vipassana meditation course was an unforgettable experience. While it certainly wasn't easy, the feelings of calmness, clarity, and self-awareness I've gained since are truly amazing. The course itself was an intense journey of self-observation. The practice of Vipassana, which translates to "seeing things as they really are," involved focusing on bodily sensations in a non-judgmental way. This deep dive into my own experience brought up a range of emotions, but the emphasis on mindfulness allowed me to observe them without getting swept away. The silence of the retreat was both challenging and rewarding. It forced me to confront my inner world and find peace within myself. The daily schedule, with its structured meditation sessions, provided a framework for this exploration, while the discourses offered valuable guidance and insights. Overall, the course was a powerful introduction to meditation and its potential to transform our lives. It's important to note that this is just the beginning, and continued practice is key to sustaining the benefits. I'm excited to see how Vipassana continues to shape my journey in the days, weeks, and months to come.
I have very little meditation experience and went into the sit with so many preconceptions and worries. Leaving my heart is full of joy - such a beautifully run centre and you can really feel the energy. The food is incredible and everyone is there out of the kindness of their heart. If you are checking the reviews like I was wondering whether to go and are prepared to commit, just do it, you won’t regret it. You won’t leave as the same person! Thank you to everyone at the centre ❤️
Best experience and course of my life! After spending years trying to solve inner problems (grief, disappointment, frustration, anger) nothing has been able to help resolve this until... I decided to attend this 10-day Vipassana course as where you learn two powerful breathing techniques Anapana and Vipassana to help you get rid of negative weight and gain more love and compassion towards others. These techniques by the way are non religious and have been thought by Buddha himself over the last 2500 years. After 7 days already I felt tremendous lightness and relief. Waking up with a lot of joy and looking forward to the future again. Stunning location, great vegetarian food, simple but comfortable accomodation. Don't be afraid to join if you're completely new to meditation. The course is from 0430am till 0900pm each day but there are loads of timeslots allowing you recharge and pace yourself. Special thanks to our amazing teacher Erhard Rathmayr for guiding us and answering all questions. May you all be happy, Konstantin
