One Yoga

About

Nestled on the island of Koh Phangan in Southern Thailand, One Yoga is a Yoga Alliance-registered school with a clear sense of purpose and a grounded approach to yoga education. Founded in late 2017 by Henrik and Danny β€” two practitioners who met in the early hours of the morning for silent meditation sessions β€” the school grew organically from a shared conviction that the island deserved a more authentic and professionally run yoga institution. From those quiet beginnings, One Yoga has gone on to certify more than 2,000 yoga teachers, building its reputation almost entirely through word of mouth and student recommendations.

The school sits within a beachfront setting that includes a range of accommodation options, from private Thai-style wooden bungalows with sea views to shared beachfront rooms designed for students travelling together. The surroundings are calm and conducive to practice, with the ocean close at hand and a general atmosphere of focus and sincerity running through daily life at the school.

At the heart of what One Yoga offers is its 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, a comprehensive program that blends physical and spiritual yoga across both theory and practice. Students explore modern and traditional styles, including dynamic and meditative approaches, alongside in-depth lectures covering yoga philosophy, anatomy, and physiology. The lead teacher, Santosh, brings more than 30 years of experience in Hatha Yoga, Tantra Yoga, and Advaita Vedanta, and the wider teaching team reflects the school's commitment to embodied, lived practice rather than surface-level instruction. Beyond the 200-hour course, the school also offers 300 and 500 Hour Teacher Training programs, a 50 Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training, and regular Yoga Sadhana, Meditation, and Wellness Retreats.

Rather than drawing from a single lineage, One Yoga's teachings are informed by multiple humble and authentic traditions, with core values centred on humility and respect for diverse spiritual paths. For students unable to attend in person, the school also runs an online community to support continued practice and learning. Whether someone arrives to deepen their personal practice or to begin a teaching career, One Yoga provides a structured, thoughtful environment in which to do so.

I attended the Sadhana retreat for two weeks and it was just an incredible experience and a real highlight of my trip! Each teacher was special and they spread a beautiful energy. The area is really quiet and peaceful and you can relax on the beach during the breaks. The food was amazing! It was super healthy, fresh and lovingly prepared by the incredibly kind kitchen team. A big thank you to the whole Team! I will definitely come back one day. Lots of love, Tiziana 🌞

One Yoga is a quiet, peaceful place. Everything feels slower there, which helps you really relax and calm your mind. All the teachers I had were amazing. They made me feel supported in my own growth, no matter where I was on my yoga journey. Special thanks to the people who prepared the food. It was not only delicious but also very nourishing and gave me energy for the whole day. For me, One Yoga felt like a warm, soft blanket on a cold evening. A safe and comforting place. The one-week Sadhana retreat was a beautiful and deeply refreshing experience.

An absolutely amazing experience from start to finish! I did the one week Sadhana yoga retreat, arriving there by myself, and our group became a family! I had powerful breakthroughs in the sound healing, breathwork and meditation sessions which I didn’t even realise were going to be all included in the course. The breakfasts and lunches were all delicious too. The space that Jana and Marla have created is truly unique and I am so grateful to them and all of the other teachers too (shout out to Raj and Konstanza!) for being a part of my healing journey. I will cherish these memories forever. THANK YOU!!! πŸ’•

A beautiful meditation and yoga retreat experience! Absolutely recommended in every aspect! 😊 The spaces are well maintained and equipped, most of which overlook the ocean and are surrounded by beautiful tropical plants. The location is peaceful and quiet (including a little beach with the private access) however is only 10 mins walking distance from shops, bar and restaurants. The whole staff team (from teachers to reception, to kitchen) are very welcoming, professional and never missing a kind smile. Accomodations are confortable and clean, the food provided during the retreat is freshly made daily and absolutely outstanding. Thank you very much One Yoga team for the passion and the effort you put in the project. It was a memorable week with you. 😊

I attended the Yoga Sadhana Retreat for one week and I had a really good time. It was active, chill, emotional, peaceful and mindful. Its a beautiful, quiet place and is kept super clean: the shalas, the beach, the breakfast/lunch area, the private apartment. Kudos to the thai blu collar workers for the professional house keeping and excellent food! The structure of the one-week program is well-thought out. I am a beginner and didnt feel lost at any given time. Lots of variations in the hatha and vinyasa classes. I had the feeling 1-2 intermediate participants could have handled one or two more challenges though. The breathwork, meditation class and the yoga philosophy intro added depth to the program. I loved it. All the teachers are really good. For me personally I enjoyed Raj, Marla and especially Konstanza the most. Konstanza is such a breath of fresh air, wonderful human being and amazing yoga teacher. All in all: Highly recommended. If One Yoga was in Europe, I would go on a regular base. 🌝 All the best, Tobias
