Nushama is a truly wonderful and healing place for anyone dealing with major depression, PTSD, anxiety, or grief. The atmosphere feels uplifting and supportive from the moment you walk in. The rooms are spotless, and the hallways are beautifully decorated with pink flowers, and filled with a sense of peace and care. The staff is incredibly compassionate, attentive, and genuinely kind. They always make sure I’m comfortable — even finding the perfect chair to accommodate my back issues. I love the thoughtful touches during therapy sessions, like the cozy sleep masks, snack trays, and soothing playlists that make the experience relaxing and personal. Today, they even used a smudge stick to bring positive energy and good spiritual vibes into the space — a lovely touch that made the environment feel even more serene. Nushama is easy to get to from the E train, and the office appears ADA accessible, which makes it even more welcoming. Overall, it’s a beautiful community focused on true healing and care.
I first found my way to Nushama in the summer of 2024 at one of my lowest points. My incredibly supportive husband (who is also an oncologist) felt this treatment could help me cope with my chronic illness/ pain and worsening depression. In addition to helping my physical pain, he had seen how ketamine helped people who felt “stuck” or hopeless start viewing their realities from new perspectives. He thought it might be precisely what I needed, and he was 100% right. After my initial consultation with Dr Radowitz, I started with the recommended six session protocol. Even though I was quite nervous about what a ketamine infusion would feel like, Dr Radowitz reassured me tremendously and just made me feel like I had found the right place. He explained that even “bad trips” (or moments one might find unsettling) could have something important to teach. It really is all about perspective, and I learned he was right. Each journey has been important and life-changing in its own way. Nushama is aesthetically beautiful and has clearly been designed to foster an atmosphere of peace and healing. It is a sanctuary in the middle of the city. At the same time, it’s clear they never take the medical side lightly. Each session I know I’m being monitored by multiple medical professionals, which contributes to my sense of safety and allows me to “let go”. I always feel deeply cared for by the entire Nushama team (doctors, nurses, therapists ,office staff, etc. ) and consistently treated with professionalism, warmth and compassion. The integration therapists you’ll work with are first rate and the work you’ll do with them is just as important as the medication being administered. Each therapist has a unique and important perspective to offer. So remember - even if you wish to work with one or two therapists throughout your time there, be open to working with a variety. Each individual opened my mind in new ways and undoubtedly contributed to my growth. Prior to each journey, the therapists will talk with you and collaborate with you to set an “intention” going into each session. This is essential and helps guide each journey in a meaningful and productive way. When you’re coming out of the session, the same therapist will be there for you, listening and helping you make sense of what came up. It is sacred work and they certainly treat it that way. Ultimately, Nushama’s six session infusion protocol got me out of a hole I never thought I could escape. It helped with my physical and emotional pain more than I ever thought possible. I went from having almost daily migraines to maybe a few every month around my period. These days I go every month about a week before my period to stave off severe depression and pain caused by PMDD and endometriosis. It has been life changing. I feel deep gratitude that Nushama exists and I’m able to keep up this treatment. Nushama and everyone there have had a profound and lasting impact on my quality of life. I don’t know where I would be if it weren’t for their superb care and their active collaboration in my healing journey.
I love Nushama. It’s a beautiful office covered in flowers. When you walk in, the atmosphere is so soothing. I went to Nushama at one of the darkest periods of my life. Sprovato and the care that I received at Nushama are a big part of why I am still here today. Two months ago, when I began treatment, I was experiencing severe, treatment resistant depression. With the help of Sprovato, I am finally functioning in the world again. I specifically want to mention two employees, who I credit with saving my life. First is Felicity. She somehow manages that rare personality where she is always upbeat and friendly but not fake and annoying. During some of my darkest days, she was so good at navigating conversations with me without making me feel broken. She knows so much about Sprovato, and she takes the time to help you understand it to. Felicity always works hard to make sure I get my favorite room for my sessions (light can make me anxious, and this room has no windows). She checks in frequently and is always quick to bring me a weighted blanket or anything else I need. Next is Talia. Talia is a caring, intelligent woman who is extremely passionate about ketamine therapy and how it can help her patients. She has been reading ketamine studies and has so many wonderful resources to offer patients who are trying to gain insight. She also does an IV like a dream. I am notoriously hard to stick, and most facilities have to use an ultrasound or dig around a bit. Not Talia. She is a vein whisperer. She also always makes me feel seen and heard, even while juggling multiple patients. The only negative I can say is that the facility seems understaffed. The medical assistants are always being pulled in a million directions, often covering the door, and being run ragged by patients. Sprovato has to be administered in very specific time windows to many patients at a time. The staff does a great job of getting you your dose without rushing you. However, this is a therapeutic setting, and it would be nice if there was enough staff so that the medical assistants can answer questions, etc, even when the clinic is full of patients.
Absolutely fantastic experience over the past few months; the entire team — the founders, providers, clinical staff, etc. — are all wonderful to work with. The facility is spotless, calming, and I always feel at ease the moment I walk in. I have never once felt rushed; in fact, the staff encourages me to take my time and makes sure I’m completely comfortable throughout. What stands out most is how professional and attentive the care is — the team takes detailed notes, asks thoughtful questions, and tracks my progress carefully at each step. I’ve always felt very safe knowing that there is thorough medical oversight and that they treat this with the seriousness it deserves. The integration support and holistic approach here make such a difference compared to other clinics — it feels like they truly care about the whole person, not just the treatment session. Scheduling is smooth, communication is clear, and the entire process is consistent and reliable. I’ve felt significantly better since beginning treatment here, and the progress has been tangible and lasting. It’s one of the best investments I’ve ever made in my mental health.
