Anand Ashram Ubud

About

Nestled in the heart of Ubud, Bali, Anand Ashram is a self-development center founded in 1991 under the Anand Ashram Foundation, affiliated with the United Nations through DPI. Rooted in the teachings of Spiritual Humanist Anand Krishna, the ashram operates with a clear and grounding vision: One Earth, One Sky, One Humankind. It welcomes all genuine seekers of spirituality regardless of caste, creed, sex, faith, or nationality — anyone sincerely interested in working on themselves and uncovering a deeper sense of inner joy and bliss.

The ashram offers an immersive residential experience with a minimum three-night stay, providing guests with a private room with en suite bathroom, breakfast and lunch, and participation in a structured daily program. The daily schedule includes mantra chanting, fire ceremony, yoga asana, and meditation — practices drawn from ancient traditions and designed to work together as a complete path of spiritual development. The yoga practiced here is informed by classical texts including the Patanjali Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita, placing asana within a broader framework of conscious, mindful living rather than physical practice alone.

On the grounds, guests will find the Bodhichitta Meditation Hall, the Adi Parashakti Devi Temple (Temple of the Divine Mother), the Samskriti Sindhu Museum of World Culture, a spiritual store, and spacious gardens — all contributing to an atmosphere that visitors consistently describe as peaceful, welcoming, and genuinely sacred. One guest from Ukraine noted the strong sense of community within the space, while another from Malaysia described it as "a unique holy spot that inspires the hearts of everyone who walks in." The ashram also runs active outreach programs including trauma relief, blood donation drives, youth programs, and medical camps, reflecting its commitment to service as a form of spiritual practice.

Anand Ashram's approach to yoga and meditation is inseparable from its broader philosophy: that true practice means living consciously, facing life's challenges with awareness and equanimity. Located at Jl. Sriwedari Km. 3 in Ubud, this is a place for those seeking more than a studio class — it is a space for sustained inner work within a caring and purposeful community.
