GoogleThis is a magical place. Hidden in the mountains is this beautiful Ashram. The 7day silence was a beautiful journey. A way to come to yourself. To slow down time and to enjoy nature. The teachers guide you through their lessons on meditation, yoga and spirituality. I recommend to ask for a room in the higher parts of the Ashram. As it brings an extra element, more serene. Treat yourself, and allow to invest in a better you.
Saurabhji & Sauravji took us under their wing for a week's yoga retreat here. Being complete beginners to yoga, they guided us diligently and caringly through various practices, at a pace that was comfortable for us. There was a good variety of practices to do throughout the week, which tested us on various levels. We were given individualised feedback and instructions in order for us to get the best out of the time we were there. The food prepared by Anil & Umraj was freshly made on a daily basis and was so hearty & delicious!! I wish I could continue eating it throughout our whole time in India! The rooms are basic but the staff will do what they can to make it as comfortable for you as possible. The yoga hall is light and airy. It can get cold in the early morning/night, so make sure you have enough layers packed. There are some resident dogs including Tommy who are friendly faces to have around. The ashram itself is peaceful and full of life and beauty and is a pleasure to be in. You'll find lots of points of interest walking around. We had an amazing experience here and would highly recommend it, whether you're a beginner or advanced in your yoga journey. We've learned a lot of things that we want to be able to bring back into our busy UK lives!
I did the 11-day silent retreat at Abhyasa Yogmath in January and it was such a special experience. The space is beautiful and peaceful, and the whole environment feels really supportive from the moment you arrive. I learned so much during my time there , not just through the practices, but from the quiet, the routine, and having the space to really observe my mind and habits. All of the teachers hold the space with care, and I personally felt especially supported by Saurabh, whose presence and guidance really helped me feel grounded and safe throughout the retreat. Also, a very important mention to Tommy, who may just be the best little prayer buddy / therapy / yoga dog to ever exist, such a sweet and calming presence to have at the Ashram Itβs not always easy, but itβs incredibly worthwhile. I left feeling clearer, more present, and with tools I know Iβll keep using in everyday life. If youβre looking for somewhere to properly disconnect and go inward, this place is truly something special.
I attended the 11 days Vipassana silent retreat and was grateful on how considerate, attentive, and experienced my instructors were ππ» They were dedicated to their craft, always considered the safety and needs of students, and always willing to help/offer help. Not to mention the sattvic food they serve is so delicious and wholesome! If you are looking for an authentic retreat experience in the Himalayan forest and to learn from some of the most dedicated yoga and meditation teachers, then you are in the right place. Do expect to embrace a simple lifestyle and challenge yourself mentally / spiritually / physically!
11 days that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Saurabh and our other two gurus are knowledgable and simply fantastic. The entire stay was a learning experience with lessons for a healthier way of living. You are surrounded by nature, wildlife, yogi dogs and great energy. The teachings are profound and push you. Food is cooked by a team of Nepalese chefs over wood fire and very healthy. Every meal was a highlight. The 7 days of silence and phone detox was also among one of the best parts of the program. I am forever grateful for decision to go and have this memorable experience. Thank you Saurabh and everyone at the ashram.
