The retreats are based upon the foundation of Jessie’s inspirational morning Radiance Yoga and afternoon Restoration Yoga with the wonderful team adjusting and giving lots of one-on-one attention in the classes; along with a range of other healing arts classes and activities including daily guided beach & nature walks, massage & spa therapies, healthy meals & juices, core strength classes, meditation, mindfulness practice, Yoga Nidra, sound healing, chanting, cultural tours, awe-inspiring hiking & lots more in beautiful idyllic locations.
People join our retreats for many different reasons - everyone leaves feeling relaxed, healthy, clear & inspired. All levels of yoga experience are well catered for including complete yoga beginners. People are challenged according to their experience with plenty of individual attention and adjustments given in the classes by the experienced team of Radiance facilitators.
The morning Radiance Yoga practice combines gentle warm up sequences with Vinyasa yoga (moving through the postures with breath awareness) and holding in postures to build strength, stability and alignment. The afternoon Restoration Yoga practice combines deeply restorative yoga postures with stillness and breath awareness for deep rest and quiet. Many variations of the postures are given so people can practice according to their experience and individual needs. The classes are designed to allow people to journey deep into their practice with awareness and ease. Yoga props are often used to go deeper and to experience complete relaxation and renewal in the restorative yoga postures.
The Radiance Retreats team is made up of experienced and inspired Yoga Teachers, Healers, Naturopaths, Vitality chefs, Massage and Holistic Spa Therapists and a range of other teachers and facilitators for inspiration and renewal. Together they create an inspirational retreat journey suitable for all levels of yoga practitioners including complete beginners.
Jessie began exploring yoga in 1991 and developing her teaching in 1997. Jessie published 4 yoga books with HarperCollins Publishers AUS & Ulysses Press USA including Yoga Postures for your Body, Mind & Soul and created the popular Radiance Yoga DVD series for home practice.
Jessie has studied yoga with many leading teachers in various yoga styles. “I remember watching my mother do headstands as a teenager and Yoga Nidra. She would take us to Satyananda yoga ashrams, classes and centre's. However it was not until in my early twenties that I went along to class myself. It was a profound and life changing experience. "I fell in love with exploring the many and varied yoga postures, the physical sensation of stretching, challenging and awakening my body. My breathing improved and there was an immediate shift in my state of mind. A feeling of calm and inner peace washed over me and I knew that yoga would become a natural part of my life.”
Jessie went on to study and train with many leading senior yoga teachers throughout Australia and Asia and completed a 9-month Yoga Arts Teacher Training course in 1996/97 and has been teaching and sharing yoga, writing books, DVD's and offering Radiance Retreats ever since. Jessie continues to study with teachers and looks forwards to the onwards journey with yoga.
