I'm super happy to say I learned to meditate with Michael back in 2013 in NYC. Actually it was Jillian who was recommended to me by an American she taught in London. It was "by chance" that I was making conversation with this near stranger I never saw again and asked if he had ever meditated. I knew I needed a boost of what I'll call no pressure spiritualism, having been raised Catholic, Lutheran at primary school, Seventh Day Adventist on some weekends with a side dish of Buddhism in my 20's. Learning a mantra and keeping with my twice a day meditation ritual has made a striking, but invisible, difference in my life. Like plugging into a simple, but intense, quick reminder of the meaning of life. It has helped me become much slower to react to difficult scenarios through acceptance. I'm not as invested in the drama or negativity that tends to become a habit in daily life. Returning to LA for a few years, Michael pointed me in the direction of a colleague who held weekend meditations. I really appreciate, under his guidance, the like-mindedness that brings us together as a meditating community. There's no odd pressure to participate, speak or pay up in any way. Admittedly I have not done a deep dive into reading about Vedic meditation, nor upgraded my technique, nor gone on any retreats. Yet. But am welcomed by Michael at his NYC events and enjoyed the experience fully! In a nutshell, we allow ourselves to sit with the basic tranquility that we all carry, but can forget to honor. Turn down the noise We can easily get caught up, even totally lost in the myriad of daily activities, demands, rituals and frustrations we encounter. I like most others, found it difficult to turn down this noise. Then I met Michael Miller. His clear and inspirational teaching of Vedic Meditation offered me a doorway of opportunity to briefly enter a world of peaceful introspection with a delicious taste of harmony. The art of clearing your mind is powerful. It sounds crazy I know. I was initially very skeptical myself. But trust me, I immediately discovered that the results of investing in two daily 20-minute meditation sessions reaps incredible rewards. Those quiet moments begin to elusively influence your daily life. And it even gets better as I continue to meditate! I am so grateful that Michael taught me how to control the volume on the noise of life. Randy, Retired
The four day training with the New York Meditation Center was practical, efficient and inspiring. After a short Intro talk on Zoom, we came to NY for the training, a total of 8 hours. We learned to meditate right away and we began to practice it in our small group. There was lots of time for questions and understanding the challenges and Michael is such a clear and generous teacher. It's now 6 weeks and I am successfully meditating twice a day and the benefits are immediate. I highly recommend this Vedic meditation.
I learned Vediv Meditation from Michael about 8 years ago. It has changed my life. I instantly felt my sleep improving and being just a little bit more resilient. I love the easy, simple twice a day practice. Michael was able to explain how to fit the practice into my life and help to set me up.
Taking meditation classes at New York Meditation Center with Michael was a fantastic experience and great training for a practice you will use for the rest of your life to destress and reset. Their approach is easy and realistically incorporates meditation into modern life. I especially enjoy how after you finish the 4-day class, it's just the beginning. They follow up with helpful communication about ongoing group meditations, retreats, advanced training, and how-to videos explaining every element of meditation and answering questions students may have. And finally, you know it works when you speak to anyone in their really great community of long time meditators, as everyone has their own story of how this has changed their life for the better.
