Whtie Lotus Yoga Centre is committed to encouraging each individual to reach their full potential. White Lotus Yoga centre teaches only Shadow yoga, which was founded and taught by Zhander Remete`.Emma Balnaves is the director and teacher of Shadow yoga.

Shadow Yoga consists of three routines or preludes. The aim of the preludes is to move the breath and energy unobstructed through the body and have a quiet yet sharp mental alertness. The preludes prepares both the mind body and breath for asana and all the advanced stages of hatha yoga.

Balakrama -Stepping into Strength - strengthens the musculoskeletal structure, increasing flexibility, preparing the blood and helping the mind to focus. It is a bone strengthening form which engages the center (navel region), hands, feet and breath, while introducing uddiyana bandha

Chaya Yoddha Sancalanam - the Churning of the Shadow Warrior -a warrior form that circulates the pranic winds (vayus) which flow through the body’s energetic channels (nadis) and works the bandhas to improve circulation.

Karttikeya Manadala - Garland of Light -an advanced warrior form that consists of stances and waist work which move the pranic force even deeper, eventually dissolving obstructions and allowing prana to flow freely.   

"The preludes are to prepare the beginner for a safe and unimposed journey on the path of hatha yoga" Says Emma. "There is no time limit put on the mastery of the preludes." She says. 

Zhander writes, “According to one of the forefathers of Hatha Yoga, Allama Prabudeva, ‘The appearance of this body is nothing but layers of frozen shadows.’ By investigating the shadow and its source we come to light. By coming to understand them we can dissolve them.”

 The preludes of Shadow YOGA are made up of linear and circular activities through the utilisation of the bodies 108 vital junctions. The form brings about changes in flexibility, firmness and smooth uninterrupted inner motions of the life force. We strive to help each individual empower their self and lead a healthy, happy and well balanced life.
