Whispers of Wellness is located at 30 Kelliher Rd, Richlands, 4077. It is a privately owned centre providing services to those in the local area and beyond. It is fully air-conditioned with available on-site parking, affordable services and a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Whispers of Wellness is a weight neutral space, free from diet talk and self-shaming, where people can socialise, relax and seek support. Whispers of Wellness offers a variety of Yoga styles including Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and Restorative.
GENTLE YOGA WITH GUIDED MEDITATION
30 Minute and 60 Minute Yoga classes comprised of gentle Hatha and Restorative Yoga poses with a focus on relaxing the mind and body followed by Guided Meditation. These classes are a wonderful choice for beginners or for those wanting a more soothing Yoga practice. Props such as blocks, bolsters and straps are incorporated into the postures to ensure you remain comfortable while still maintaining a beneficially intense stretch. The Monday night 6:45 - 7:45pm class is practiced by candlelight. Maximum of six people per class.
HATHA & VINYASA YOGA
60 Minute classes incorporating both Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga into a program designed specifically to increase your well-being, these are classes that will have you feeling strong, happy and refreshed. Stretching the body works to bring blood flow back to muscles, and can help ease headaches, neck pains and restore movement to the spine. Yoga is a wonderful way to include joyful movement in your life, with the classes focusing on making you feel good inside and out. Hatha Yoga involves breathing and holding poses for 30 seconds to 1 minute and Vinyasa Yoga involves flowing from one pose to another with the breath. All of the Yoga classes are suitable for beginners and can be modified to suit the needs of the individual. The content of the classes change each week. Maximum of six people per class.
MOON MAGIC YOGA
An entirely Restorative 60 Minute Yoga class designed specifically for women, working to balance hormones, release stress and nurture the inner feminine. Perfect for women wanting to engage in self-care, increase fertility, support the body through menopause or ease pre-menstrual symptoms. Each month women go through a cycle with the moon, creating and renewing with the Full Moon and releasing all that no longer serves us with the New Moon. In today’s fast paced society where it feels like women need to be constantly “on”, from working, to raising children, this 60 Minute class serves as a haven for those wanting time to just breathe, connect and be. This class is held by candlelight and includes breathwork and guided meditation with a maximum of 5 people per class. Props such as bolsters, blankets, eye pillows, blocks and straps are used to support the body in the Yoga postures.
WOMEN'S YOGA CIRCLE
90 Minutes. A women’s circle is a sacred space for women to gather together, share and listen to each other. This Women’s Yoga Circle includes all the fundamental aspects of a women’s circle with Yoga included. Each week the class will have a new theme such as creativity, intuition, goal setting, love or self-esteem. In today’s modern world many women have lost the opportunity to spend time talking with other women, to share our fears, our hopes and our goals with one another. To know that we are not alone in feeling as we do and to know that there are people who wish for us to succeed, no matter what our goals might be. A Women’s Yoga Circle includes group discussion and ritual, breathwork, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Guided Meditation. This class is held by candlelight and has a maximum of 5 people per class. Props such as bolsters, blankets, eye pillows, blocks and straps are used to support the body in the Yoga postures.
YOGA & MEDITATION TO BALANCE YOUR CHAKRAS
The seven main chakras are the centers in our body that energy flows through. Having blocked energy in any of our seven chakras can lead to illness or upset in the mind and body, so it is important to keep this energy flowing freely. These 60 Minute classes are a 7 week repeating series, which each week having its focus on balancing a different chakra through Yoga and Meditation.
Week 1: Root Chakra - focus on grounding Hatha poses and building a strong foundation.
Week 2: Sacral Chakra - focus on strengthening and stretching the hips through Vinyasa flows, whilst working on opening up to new people and experiences.
Week 3: Solar Plexus Chakra - focus on digestion and abdominal strength whilst gaining confidence in our intuition.
Week 4: Heart Chakra - focus on opening the chest and shoulders whilst connecting to feelings of love and inner peace.
Week 5: Throat Chakra - focus on releasing tension in the neck, whilst tapping into our ability to communicate.
Week 6: Third Eye Chakra - focus on activating the Third Eye and connecting deeper into the imagination, and our ability to see the big picture.
Week 7: Crown Chakra - focus on Restorative Yoga poses, connecting to inner and outer beauty and pure bliss.
If the word Chakra does not connect with you, you are welcome to simply view each week as having its focus on a different section of the body. The intensity and content of the classes will change week to week. Beginners are welcome and you do not need to commit to all seven weeks of the series.
Learn how to meditate with weekly 30 Minute Meditation classes designed to introduce participants to many different forms of meditation. From mindfulness, to candle gazing, to chanting, to guided imagery, the meditation classes offer you the chance to help quiet the mind, connect to the spirit and relax the body.
The key focus of these 30 and 60 Minute Matwork Pilates classes is to work at protecting the spine, hips and knees to help keep the body mobile and strong. Comfort is an important aspect of the class so most exercises included can be tailored to best suit the needs of the individuals in the class. These classes aim to help maintain and gain muscle strength and stamina, in a way that is both gentle and achievable. Exercise needs to be about celebrating all that our bodies can do, not about punishing ourselves for what we have eaten. These classes are free from diet talk, weight stigma and place no focus on weight loss or aesthetic goals. Whispers of Wellness aims to create a welcoming, supportive environment for those wanting to incude joyful movement in their life, free from shame, guilt or comparisons. No yelling, no pressure to perform, just time for you to connect to your body and marvel at all that it does for you each day.
