GoogleI've started Pilates for the first time in my third trimester of pregnancy. Every single instructor has been so accommodating and helpful as I navigate this new body and it's limitations. Highly recommend this studio for movement during pregnancy. Also the studio is absolutely gorgeous β€οΈπ«ΆπΌ
Great studio, nice small classes and relaxed feel. Reformer classes are often booked up and classes on the weekend but book early and youβre all good. PSA- If youβre on call or have last minute changes to your day, the cancellation charge is off putting when there are heaps of spots left in the class/no waitlist.
Super welcoming, small classes. Darcy and her team are so friendly, this is the best Pilates and group exercise classes Iβve experienced. Great environment for beginners, clear instructions and calm/comforting vibe.
I'm so glad I found this place after months of trying to find a Pilates studio that was the right fit for me. Darcey the owner is very knowledgeable about the body, her style and techniques are unique, gentle, sophisticated and impactful. I have tried both the group classes and private sessions and always feel like a different person after the sessions. The studio is located in a very convenient place, with lots of parking. The studio vibe and atmosphere is laid back, fresh and stylish. You will feel relaxed abd welcome once you walk in.
Edited 02/10/25 - new studio location! I've now been attending Revere regularly for 18 months. The class offerings have also increased since my initial review: Arc - using a modified spine corrector, this is now one of my favourite classes because I enjoy the different ways the instructors use the arc to combine mobility with strength. It's not just for lying in to do sit ups, we also use it as an elevated platform for standing leg work, sitting in sideways for upper body and oblique work, turned upside down for an extra wobbly challenge during planks/push-ups, and my favourite way is for inversions with our legs in the air. Release - the class that I (and most people) probably need every day! A combination of mobility, stretching, breathing, and self myofascial release with the foam roller, massage balls, and occasionally other props like the TheraBands and yoga blocks. Reformer - I've only done a few of these, as they book up quickly! There's 6 reformers, which is a nice and intimate class size. I still love Barre for the upbeat music and cardio dance elements (and of course, holding onto the sturdy Barre to assist my balance). Burn also gives me a good cardio and strength workout, and usually incorporates more props which I enjoy. Mat is the reliable, base class that I enjoy attending any time of day. I've attended classes taught by Darcey, Alyce, Brydie, Claire, Imogen, Julia, Lucy, and Maryann. They really are some of the best Pilates instructors I've come across in Perth. As I tend to be accident prone, they always make sure to provide alternatives and accommodate any injuries/issues. All the instructors are inclusive, engaging, personable, and since the classes are not huge, they're able to provide individual attention and correction. I've also done some private sessions with Alyce, and she always perfectly tailors the exercises to whatever I feel like I need on the day. Whether it's spine mobility, lower body strength, or when I've overdone something and need gentler rehab exercises, I know she's got me. For absolute beginners (like I was a year ago), I still highly recommend getting one of the introductory offers and trying out a few different classes. In terms of access to the new studio location above Crow Books, I usually park around Dane St and walk up Iceworks Lane, it's less than 200m. Then it's up the stairs on the right hand side. The paid Town of Vic Park spaces around Dane St/Albany Hwy are free before 8AM so it's easy finding a park for the early morning classes.
