GoogleSummary: If you’re looking for a high-energy flow, this isn’t that. But if you want a thoughtful, breath-centered practice that helps you slow down, feel your body, and cultivate steadiness, this class is your go-to. The Space: This studio is a second-floor loft with tall windows and skylights overhead, so natural light pours in. The room is spacious, uncluttered, and simply arranged, which amplifies the quiet, reflective tone of the class. The Class: We began with a collective Om and alternate-nostril breathing, then moved into a steady sequence of Sanskrit-cued postures rather than a flowing practice. (I did have to peek at others for a few poses!) Because there was no music, every breath, footstep, and verbal cue became part of the atmosphere. At first, I felt more self-aware, but that actually drew me deeper into my breath. I ended up finding it rather powerful and reflective. The Teacher: Jerome was warm and attentive, especially with first-timers. He introduced himself, encouraged me to place my mat wherever I felt comfortable, and offered hands-on adjustments that invited the body to relax deeper rather than push harder. Vibe: His use of Sanskrit cueing, paired with steady breathwork (beginning with a collective Om and alternate-nostril breathing), created a classical, contemplative tone. This was not a flow; it was a deliberate exploration of posture and breath. Community: The overall atmosphere felt community-oriented. People were chatting with one another as they gathered up their belongings after class, which made the space feel friendly and welcoming. Practical Notes: I also loved that this is a drop-in studio. There’s no advance sign-up needed, just show up with your mat. Parking is free right outside. It's a DONATION-BASED class. Welcome to all! Quick Note: The class isn’t heated, but with so much sunlight streaming in, a gentle natural warmth builds throughout the practice.
Incredibly open space. Jerome was so helpful with modifications for pregnancy and form improvements. Will be visiting again! Also, the all levels class was non heated, which was great if you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant!
Really amazing studio in the heart of downtown Santa Monica. My favorite instructor is Arjuna. His teaching has improved my practice exponentially. I am able to hold poses I never thought possible before. Highly recommend his classes!
Favorite place on this planet! Donation based yoga studio in downtown Santa Monica. I love all the instructors, but Jerome is my fav. His classes are incredible: the right pace and each class feels thoughtfully designed. You start seeing familiar faces and making friends by going to the same classes each week. It's such a special place that brings so much positivity and wellness to the community. I can't imagine not having it around!
