Beginner friendly. Offers free drop in classes, self guided meditation hours, deeper study programs around Buddhist teachings from their founding author. Really kind community, almost entirely community run. Good place to meet interesting international people.

This is an oasis in the middle of Los Angeles for finding inner peace. I started by coming to the lunch time meditations, and everyone I met was very friendly and helpful. Gradually, I started coming to the General Program classes, pujas (chanted prayers) and eventually joined Foundation Program for more intensive study and meditation. You can take your meditation practice to whatever level you want, and there is never any pressure (other than people genuinely being happy to see you)!

KMC LA is my favorite place in LA:) The teachings are so clear and so helpful to find peace of mind in this hectic city. Gen Rigpa, the resident teacher, is so down to earth and has the ability to take ancient wisdom and make it so accessible for our modern lives. The community of volunteers could be the kindest happiest people I’ve ever metπŸ˜€ I highly recommend πŸ™πŸΌ
