My husband and I first met Mao 6 years ago while searching for a gym close to our apartment in the center. As Americans new to Rome, we wanted a gym with classes and equipment. We quickly came to be regulars in Mao's mat and cardio classes there. Fast forward to a couple of years later and Mao moved to another part of Rome and opened F&P. We were hooked by then and followed him to the new studio. The new location is out of our way, but the benefit of doing Pilates twice a week with Mao far outweighs the commute from one side of the city to the other (except when the buses decide not to come!). Mao is professional, fun, adapts the sessions to our abilities, and over the years he also has become a friend. Highly, highly recommend this studio for Romans and expats alike. Mao was born in NY, lived for a time in the U.K. and speaks English well.
The warm and friendly atmosphere is simply wonderful. Mao is competent, friendly, and personable! A tough yet motivating teacher, always ready to encourage students to push themselves beyond their limits. In fact, he helps them discover that sometimes their limits are only in their own minds! Highly recommended, both for the type of training and the teacher's expertise!
Truly excellent private Pilates classes! The classes are thoughtful and challenging, and the instructor is very engaging and always available, making you feel at home right away. I quickly noticed significant benefits in my body and posture. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing, and I highly recommend the experience.
