Been a while since I last did yoga and Chandra was very relaxing for me. You could hear the water flowing in the back and the class was not too difficult to follow. The website says that walk-in is possible but to make sure reservation on internet is recommended. You could see the schedule at the website, but have to sign up to for reservation. Small group was the best part for me(max 15 people), only 160k(~10$) per class and videos are allowed. I would definitely visit again soon πŸŒ™πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ

Very peaceful experience! Tourist friendly. Took the chakra class and was offered a cool towel and tea at the end. The class was outside but not too hot as there was a breeze and beautiful sounds from the water. Highly recommend!

I attended the intermediate yoga class after a break from practice, and it was a wonderful experience. The serene setting with the sound of the lake and a view of rice fields made it even more special. The class duration was longer, and Sida, the instructor, was very patient. He guided us through headstands towards the end, which was a great challenge and learning opportunity.

Chandra Yoga is somewhere I found and saved for a while, and as I usually live in Pererenan, I was happy to find another accessible option. It was a bit of an adventure locating the shala, and nothing prepares one for the sight the greets you: everyone mentions the rice fields, but when the sunlight filters through the foliage in the river behind, it’s almost magical. The sound of the river was also unique, and meditative. What was slightly puzzling though, was why the β€˜reception’ was in the practice space, and registration/payment took a long time because everyone had to fill up an actual A4 paper form. This asked about your Instagram handle and whether you would like to be tagged, but not about your experience level or any injuries or conditions. At least they do ask for your consent to post your face I guess. And while it is a beautiful space, it is still relatively expensive for what it offers and Bali, as it outprices a lot of other studios in the Canggu area. Compared to one other studio I know who charges 5k more, Chandra’s cork mats have seen better days. I know the team has gotten defensive about previous negative comments, some may be unfair, but some are suggestions to improve. A No Latecomers policy is clearly stated, yet many continued walking in, and we started late as a result. I hope you can also consider a phones-away policy, as seeing these on every other mat is distracting too. In summary, 5* for the beautiful space, the practice itself was OK, I might consider a sunset class with a different teacher in the future.
