GoogleWe finally made it to Brewer Street Yoga and now we see what all the fuss is about! We attended an all-levels naked men’s class with Giaky and the pace was just what we needed on a Sunday morning. Studio was well heated and mats were provided (appreciated when travelling). Well definitely be back on our next trip to London
I cannot recommend this studio highly enough. Teachers and students alike have been nothing but welcoming. I started yoga after I lost someone I was very close to, and the improvement to my mental and physical health and the feeling of community with the other yogis that I got from the classes here really got me through a tough time. Easily the best decision I made in 2025! (Don't put it off because you don't think you can do it- if you're worried you're not flexible enough, the best way to improve is to start doing yoga!).
Mathew holds a great space for yoga where you can feel confident of being cared for and challenged. He gives great instructions and excellent demonstrations. He gives great alternatives for different levels of skills and maintains good feedback for participants. This is enhanced in the studio in Brewer Street which is very conducive to concentration and peace in the midst of Soho. It has been designed well and has air conditioning and a changing room. Sadly no shower facilities but that has never deterred me or anyone I know. It has been adapted to a safe space to enjoy in person yoga in the current Covid-19 environment. I also enjoy the friendship that Matthew engenders in his classes and the participants. He usually suggests beverages after the class to encourage this camaraderie
This studio is the best place in London to experience yoga for gay men. So many classes and styles to suit all abilities. And more importantly a really friendly community. I joined up on a Monday eve for the hot yoga with the legend that is Colneth.. an amazing tutor, fluid class, attended by great guys and all in swimwear. ( it’s not mandatory, shorts are fine too) also you don’t need to know any yoga as you’re talked through it. If you’re looking for a yoga community, you need look no further.
Having experienced the warm welcome, feeling of community and expert teaching from the team at Brewer Street, I can only recommend it to anyone curious about Yoga for gay men. Classes are genuinely accessible, challenging and fun, and Matthew and team have created a lovely community of regulars as well as occasional visitors like myself.
