I discovered the Iyengar method ten years ago through Shayna at Ballarat Yoga, and it has remained my preferred yoga practice — and studio — ever since. I’m drawn to this space for its precision, discipline, and the way it challenges me both physically and mentally. The teachers are knowledgeable and experienced, delivering a thoughtful, intelligent, respectful, and deeply grounding practice. They explain alignment and technique clearly, catering to all levels with individual adjustments that honour the integrity of each pose. Every class feels welcoming to newcomers while still offering depth and challenge for more experienced students. The practice itself has been transformative for me. This is the yoga studio that delivers you self awareness, builds real strength, balance, and calm.

I recently restarted at the studio after having about 7 years away from yoga . Covid and a few kids later I knew it was time to get back into it (I just wish I returned sooner). It has been great for my mental and physical health. Reminding myself to take note of my body and breathing through the classes has also alerted me to be mindful in my day to day life. Shayna and the team have been so welcoming on my return and have changed poses to suit my needs. That’s what I love about the studio you are assisted or positions are changed to each individual. It’s a great comfortable studio and location.

I started to practice Yoga at Ballarat IYENGAR Yoga in the middle of 2016 after my traditional Chinese medicine doctor had suggested me to do some stretching activities with acupuncture treatment for my frozen shoulder problem. Even after I moved to Melbourne to work in October 2017, I still went back to Ballarat to practice Yoga during school holidays. I really thanked for Ballarat IYENGAR Yoga had offered online Yoga practice which enabled me to continue practice Yoga without stopping this practice during lockdown time. I really like Ballarat Yoga as all Yoga teachers are very friendly and professional. Shayna, Cara and Ansha, Glen are all patient and caring, they especial pay attention to my weakness and correct my wrong gesture. Practice of Yoga has become part of my life.

I recommend this yoga studio to everyone. Personalised, detailed instruction. Great for beginners or experienced. I feel like I'm understanding what yoga actually is for the first time.
