I spent 5 days at this retreat center and would happily come back. The yoga classes were the highlight. Unlimited access, kind and attentive teachers, and the aerial sunset yoga was beautiful. The center itself is well maintained and clean, with simple but comfortable rooms. The sauna is a nice bonus, and being right by the beach with quiet nights made it easy to properly unwind. I also appreciated the welcome meeting with the director when I arrived. It’s a thoughtful touch that sets the tone. A couple of things to note: the restaurant food was inconsistent and just okay. The nightly live music at the restaurant didn’t add much to the experience and made it hard to relax in the evenings. Overall though, this is a solid retreat center with good yoga and a peaceful setting. I’d recommend it.

I recently completed my 200hrs YTT at Ananda and couldn’t recommend enough! I signed up primarily to deepen my personal practice and understanding of yoga, with teaching very much an afterthought. I left Ananda feeling genuinely excited and confident to teach my own classes, which says everything about the quality of the programme. The training is Ashtanga based and strongly rooted in tradition, which gave me a depth of knowledge and respect for the practice that you would not find everywhere. The structure, philosophy and discipline behind the method were taught in a way that felt authentic, practical and empowering. Valerie, Fern and Raj are incredible, supportive, knowledgeable and truly invested in your growth as a student and as a teacher. They will encourage you out of your comfort zone, but in a way that felt safe and constructive. I felt challenged and supported at the same time, which created the perfect environment to learn and grow. The level of support throughout the training was incredible. No question felt too small, feedback was thoughtful and detailed and the sense of community made the whole experience even more special. Thank you so much team - hoping our paths cross again one day !!! 🌞🌞🌞

Spent a week at Ananda, doing the yoga program. Such a beautiful retreat center. Yoga classes are amazing and for all levels and styles, sauna and ice bath, stunning food, staff is very accommodating and super friendly. Beach is accross the road. Nice rooms, lovely hangout spots throughout the place. 3 beautiful yoga shalas. It felt like home from day one. Valerie the owner is a beautiful soul with a big heart. Highly recommend. 🙏🏼

This review is based on an 11 day Detox in October 2025. My 5/5 star review is not a reflection of "perfection" but rather of the ratio between expectation and actual experience and in this respect the Ananda Detox Centre exceeded my expectations so a 5 star rating is warranted. So what were my expectations exactly? Well 1. a "budget" but comfortable Detox experience. As I was not paying for a more luxury premium spa style experience, I was not expecting "White Lotus" levels of comfort but not spartan conditions either 2. a well managed and mature detox program 3. clean, comfortable accomodation 4. a relaxed environment sheltered from the temptations of Thai food but easy access to the beach and sea Were there things I was disappointed by? Yes of course. The in-house masseuses were not great but that's to be expected for a budget all-inclusive experience. Also the initial impression is that the Detox is "one size fits all" but actually there is room for customisation. For example the quantities of bentonite & psyllium husk drinks offered were sized for a larger person who consumes 3 meals a day but as a smaller person who only has one meal a day, I found this overkill and in the end agreed to skip some. But these are minor issues. Overall the experience was a positive and I met all desired outcomes. Finally, I found doing the Detox during "low season" a great deal - although the island was still relatively lively with a lot on, there was clearly a chill vibe and I much prefer that to detoxing in high season with a large number of people in party mode

I did a 200h Vinyasa teacher-training there and was loving all of it! The training was excellently structured, giving a feeling for the depth of Yoga. Lessons ranged from Asanas, adjustments, class structuring, philosophy, anatomy, pranayama and meditation to mantra chanting. All teachers were very knowledgeable and at the same time approachable. The buffet style vegetarian food was excellent, mornings is always cereals (with fruits, yoghurt and fresh juice) and lunch is a variety of Thai dishes. The place itself is lovely, very well maintained with a lot of green and many small, semi-hidden seating areas. I'd anytime go again, Tobias
