Wholesome Yoga October Pranayam Demonstration

Wholesome Yoga October Pranayam Demonstration

12 October 2018

By Wholesome Yoga

Dear Wholesome Yoga community,

After a September of many variations in weather and plenty of great workshops, October will be the month of culling, detoxing and letting go. A great opportunity to declutter and minimize in every way.

The 5th Yama from yoga philosophy,
Aparigraha / non-attachment, alerts us to the fact that holding on will become a source of suffering. For example, holding on to the idea that I am smart will make it very difficult for me to navigate a situation that is new to me and I may not feel expert in. It may even hinder me from attempting new things because I'd rather be seen as smart rather than not knowing sometimes.

In a physical sense, I may hold on to anger towards someone and that anger manifest in muscle tension, rapid heart rate as well as shallow breathing each time I think of or interact with that person. No skin off their back but certainly at my own detriment.

Even holding on to material possessions or continuously striving for bigger or better will highlight to us that either we never have enough or we have so much, it's crowding our space. Aparigraha is a great philosophy to regularly contemplate and review our situations. Why not do it this October?

With the change to daylight savings, it would be good to get some feedback as to what time in the evening we should hold our classes so that we can better serve your needs. Please drop us a line, reply to this email, let us know what evening time suits most and what classes you desire the most. We are here to serve and to be guided with the needs of our students.

In September we had a fair share of
enquiries regarding yoga at work, in the home, at functions and it's been a real pleasure connecting our teachers and hiring additional teachers to fulfill on these wishes. If you are after a corporate class, a team building idea, yoga at your child's school, a great thing to do at your daughter's hen's party, or you wish to have some in-home yoga that works around your schedule, don't hesitate to contact us with your enquiry

I look forward to the warmer months and being physically more active and hope that you will join us on this mission. Stretch, twist, breathe and detox.

Warm regards,
Nana and the Wholesome Yoga Team
