Prenatal Yoga Course

4 July 2013

By CentrePeace

There are so many options when it comes to pregnancy and birth! Come and explore what some of these are! There is an 8 week course starting on July 16th which is open to all pregnant women. It will be run at Centrepeace (Goonellabah) on Tuesday evenings from 5.30-7.30pm. This time slot caters for those women who work or study in the day. This is the perfect opportunity to take time out for some gentle yoga and to connect with other women preparing for birth.

It will be facilitated by Karenza Ebejer (yoga teacher), Bronwyn Moir (registered midwife) and Kirrah Holborn (doula & birthing from within mentor).

Pregnancy yoga has many benefits including; strengthening the pelvic floor and preparing the body and mind for birth with focussed breathing.

The information topics will cover exploring beliefs and fears around birth, breathing for birth, active birth positions, learning exercises to open your pelvis, herbal medicine for pregnancy, birth and beyond, discovering what to expect in the three stages of labour and the fourth trimester (life with a newborn).

Here is what one recent participant said: “I really enjoyed these classes, always felt glad I’d made the effort to drag my huge self over there. I felt it helped me through childbirth as well, I could find that calm and centre easily, my body was strong and flexible and I think this was largely due to Karenza's fantastic yoga classes.” Jade Page
