Yin Yoga for Beginners around Glenelg
About
Yin Yoga for beginners is for those wanting more of a slow, calm, restorative, deep stretch, meditative practice and are new to yoga.
If you’re tired, anxious and craving energy, or you’re over stimulated with a racing mind, you may find this very beneficial. Or you may feel tight, stiff, uncomfortable with back pain or arthritis, struggling to sleep.
The feeling that you are left with after you have practised Yin yoga is amazing and different for everyone.
Benefits of a regular Yin yoga practice
- Calms and balances the mind and body...(particularly great for mums wanting an hour time for themselves away from the kids)
- Reduces stress and anxiety...
- Increases circulation...
- Improves flexibility...
- Releases fascia and improves joint mobility and posture...(particularly great for those who strength train preventing injury, increasing recovery and improving PB’s)
- Balances the internal organs and improves digestion...
- Lowers cortisol levels that are known to add inflammation to the body and store fat...
- Reduces aches and pains in the body (particularly desk workers - shoulders, neck and lower back)
A Yin yoga class usually consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work both the lower and upper parts of the body, stressing the joints - the hips, knees, neck, shoulders, ankles, spine, wrists and elbows.
The poses are held for up to five minutes, sometimes longer and we use blocks and blankets to find comfort.
Group classes and 1-2-1's or pairs are provided in and around the Glenelg area.
PRICES:
Group classes $20 pp (packages also available)
Private 1-2-1's in your home or alternative location as preferred.
Corporate Wellness Programmes
