Early morning yoga in Pierce Park by the beach at Maroochydore. 

I teach yoga with a focus on breath and body awareness.   Breathe  Move  Stretch  Relax.

Mostly fundamental postures, very accessible for beginners, and always worth revisiting for more experienced practitioners.  Attention to connection to the earth, lengthening to the sky, and conscously moving from the core.   Where can I soften more, where can I draw in and engage more?  How are my feet on the ground?  Are my shoulders, neck, jaw, eyes soft? 

And smile and breathe, maybe most important of all!

Inhale,  expand.  Exhale, relax and draw in to centre, 

For many of us, simply being outdoors is immediately a shift out of our usual surroundings, which creates the opportunity to have a different experience of our  life.  Maybe it's easier to relax, and let go of our inside worries.

As we stand barefoot on the natural contours of the earth, there is more information for our feet.  As we breathe the sea air, there are negative ions and new smells .  As we feel the touch of the breeze, the sun, the rain even on our skin, we are drawn into the present moment.  As our mnds quieten, we can hear the ocean and the birdsong.

I love practising yoga in the outdoors, immersed in the sounds, smells and textures of the natural environment.  It is different every day and definitely beyond my control, I have to take it as it comes :)  Just like life!
