About
Classes focus on mindful movement, alignment and back care, as posture is often compromised by our modern life styles.
In class I teach breath based flowing vinyasas, working progressively and dynamically towards holding a pose when, and if, the body is ready. Classes are planned to build strength and flexibility, and all abilities are catered for by using graded postures, breathing techniques and relaxation.
I believe that every body can gain physical ease and mental relaxation from yoga no matter what age, size or 'flexibility'. I welcome beginners into the class.
As a yoga teacher I am guided by my own practice and formal study, an understanding of anatomy through experience as a professional massage therapist and my personal experience of injury, healing and recovery.
For me yoga has been a continuing journey of learning and self discovery. I recently [2017] completed a comprehensive bridging course into the healling yoga tradition of Sri T. Krishnamacharya, to compliment my orginal qualification with the International Yoga Teachers Association in 2007.
I am fortunate to be guided and inspired by the teachings and work of the great humanitarian and spiritual leader Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi.
