Classes

Each class runs for 1.5 hours and incorporates asana (postures), shavasana (deep relaxation) and meditation practice.

10 week term starting 14th of July 2014

Beginners Class: The beginner yoga class builds the foundation for your yoga practice. It is suitable for those with no previous yoga experience or those wishing to consolidate their knowledge of the basics of asana (postures). Become familiar with your body structure and alignment, developing both strength and flexibility to enable you to progress safely to the next level.

Intermediate: Suitable for those who have previous yoga practice and prefer a more vigorous approach. A dynamic series of flowing asana (postures) synchronised with the breath, bringing heat to the body before working into the poses more deeply, creating an awareness, depth and meditative flow for your practice.

Restorative / Physical limitations: This gentle, restorative class consists of deep relaxation (shavasana) gentle asana, (may sit in a chair if required) pranayama (breath awareness) and meditation practice. It allows each participant to work at his/her own pace. If you have a medical condition, limited mobility or injury and you need a gentle practice, this class will suit you. It is suitable for all adult age groups, including seniors.

Meditation Practice: Enjoy the stillness of meditation practice, it is available free of charge for any individual that is a student of Atha Yoga. Comfortable chairs provided if required.  20-minute sessions:  Wednesdays 11am

Prenatal: A nurturing class that supports women through the physical and emotional changes that occur during pregnancy. This class includes breathing practices, asana (yoga poses), relaxation and birth preparation techniques. A 90 minute class that caters for all levels of experience.
