About Jo
I am a Yoga Australia Level 3/ Senior teacher, with nearly 20 years of full-time Yoga teaching experience.
You don’t need to have practiced Yoga before to enjoy these classes. You don’t need to be flexible or fit! Just come along, dive in and find out what Yoga has to offer.
I have nearly two decades of teaching experience combined with a deep sense of care and consideration for all my Yoga students. This is not a "one size fits all" class. I plan each class with a different focus, and tailor each class further to suit whoever is present on the day. You don't need to worry if you're a beginner amongst regular students, or if you have an injury that prevents you doing certain postures, there is always a variation or an alternative for you.
My classes will teach you how to practice Yoga in a way that relates to your own particular body and circumstances to help you feel more freedom, peace and vibrancy within your life.
Classes start with limbering and gentle movements to warm up the body, and to prepare for the stronger Yoga postures that follow. You will learn to pay attention to your breathing, which is extremely beneficial in many ways, especially in helping you to relax body and mind. We always finish with a long relaxation. Most classes include Vinyasa style sequencing which connects poses in a flowing manner.
Beginners will learn the fundamentals of Yoga postures and how to position themselves safely. Ongoing students will be encouraged to hold poses for longer with more challenging variations.
