When yoga and meditation techniques combined with yogic breathing practices and yoga nidra, a deep sleep relaxation practice are done correctly, in a non-competitive atmosphere, these are powerful tools for change for everyone.
I teach yoga and meditaton classes and course for beginners as well as those that have been doing yoga for some time. Although in a group situation I am trained to work with the individual therefore each person in the class is given the attention and guidance needed to work to their own ability. and for their own needs. Yoga has always been a therapy for body and mind therefore each class is focused on practices that help to release tensions, stress, enhance flexibility in both body and mind and to develop awareness of one's own body/mind complex.
Classes run for 1.5 hours that consist of a 10 min relaxation at beginning of class to release the stresses of the day and focus in the moment. Followed by asanas - physical postures to enlongate the muscles, release tensions from the joints and organs of the body, enhance vitality to boost our energy and immune system and enhance flexibility. We follow with pranayama - breathing practices to begin to control our breath, for breath is life and finish with a longer relaxation practice to further release tensions as well as allow the body to reap the benefits of the previous practices. Yoga is practices in a slow, non-competitive way, in a calm atmosphere. You feel revitatlize, stretched, energized and relaxed.
Courses in Meditation for Beginners @ 1.5 hours in a group situation are especially good for mananging the mind and releasing the stresses of life. These simple but powerful effective techniques give you tools to use in everyday life, in the workplace, in relationships with self and those around us. These tools help us to dea with the stress of modern living.
Yoga NIdra is a deep sleep relaxation techniques especially for those suffering from anxiety, insomnia, phobias, a worry mind, and overloaded mind and a dissipated mind. This is an hour class where you lie down and learn relaxation techniques to use in everyday life.
