Samasti Yoga

About

Nestled in Bali, Indonesia, Samasti Yoga has been offering yoga teacher training since 2016, building a reputation for an approach that goes well beyond physical posture work. The school specialises in somatic and functional yoga, weaving together nervous system awareness, trauma-informed methodology, and authentic yogic tradition into a curriculum that is as psychologically grounded as it is spiritually rooted. The result is a training environment where students are not simply learning to teach yoga — they are being invited to examine and reconnect with themselves at a fundamental level.

The flagship offerings are a 200-hour and 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training, both accredited by Yoga Alliance. The 200-hour program introduces students to the full depth of yogic teaching, blending philosophy, breathwork, meditation, and asana with somatic therapy and modern movement science. The 300-hour training builds on this foundation with a stronger emphasis on inner experience and advanced teachings. For those unable to commit to a full residential program, Samasti also offers online short courses covering specialised topics at a self-directed pace.

What distinguishes Samasti from many other training schools is its explicit focus on emotional safety and nervous system regulation — qualities rarely centred in conventional yoga teacher training. The teaching team reflects this depth of commitment. Founder Sean Goldberg holds a degree in physiotherapy and brings expertise in meditation, somatics, and psychotherapy. He is joined by senior teachers with decades of combined experience across Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha, Buddhism, and yoga therapy, including a certified International Yoga Therapist and practitioners trained in inner contemplation methodologies.

Graduates and past students consistently highlight the sense of community that forms during the training — many describe arriving as strangers and leaving with lasting friendships. The immersive, community-centred atmosphere in Bali provides a natural backdrop for the kind of personal transformation the school aims to facilitate. Reviews speak of life-changing experiences, thoughtfully designed curriculum, and teachers who create genuine spaces for vulnerability and growth. Samasti draws students from across Europe, the Americas, and beyond, all seeking not just a certification, but a more honest understanding of who they are.
