Pyrmont Mums and Bubs Yoga
Just what new mums need!!
About
"I attended my first yoga class in the early nineties. I remeber leaving the class feeling a deep sense of peace. I think I actually fell asleep at the end". It was not long after that Georgie started attending asana classes regularly and started learning about the other aspects of yoga.
Having had a profound positive influence on her life, Georgie started her formal studies in 2003 at Nature Care College and completed an Advanced Diploma of Yoga Health. She became interested in studying the speciality area of pre and post natal yoga when pregnant with her second child in 2005.
"I loved the tools that yoga gave me both before and after birth. In many ways to manage my own health. It has been so empowering!"
A mums and bubs class with Georgie gives a new mum the opportunity to stabilise and strengthen her body, a space to release tension from both pregnancy, birth and post birth activities such as feeding and carrying little ones. We work through postures which help restore balance to body and mind. Post baby is a time to go a little slower and honour the big changes that have taken place. It takes time to make a baby and time for the body, mind and emotions to adjust after. It's also great to come together with other mums drawing babies into the practice as needed sometimes using baby massage, baby yoga, singing and teaching them the art of relaxation. Whatever is needed on the day.
Georgie is thrilled by the opportunity to teach Mums and Bubs at Pyrmont Community Centre. "I've loved watching the evolution of Pyrmont as a community over the last almost twenty years. I'm excited to be part of it's ever evolving landscape."
