Yin Yoga:

A slow paced style of yoga practiced seated and lying on the floor, that targets the connective tissue (i.e. ligaments, bones, joints of the body) that are normally not exercised in more dynamic styles of yoga practice. The stimulation normally created in the asana portion of the practice goes deeper than the superficial or muscular tissues. Yin Yoga involves challenging the body with long held (3-5 mins) static stresses of the deep myofascial (connective) tissue, allowing them to be remodelled. Yin yoga is a perfect compliment to a yoga class (yang in nature), as the combination of yang and yin allow the joints to stay healthy as opposed to purely focusing on the strengthening and stretching of the muscles. Yin yoga is a very effective way of opening tight hips and hamstrings, while opening to mindfulness practice. On a mental and emotional level, the practice allows the body to drop down (gravity assisted) into the parasympathetic nervous system, deeply healing and nourishing the body, mind and spirit. The results are grounding, calming, revitalizing, with profound energetic and emotional effects.

 

Stretch & Core:

Basic stretch & strengthening class to increase flexibility, strength & functionality of the body, while improving spinal & joint flexibility, range of motion, circulation and postural alignment. A combination of flowing body activation movements, yoga & abdominal strengthening exercises assist in alleviating back pain & muscle tension, while preventing injury.

 

Dru Yoga:

Dru Yoga is a graceful and potent form of you, based on soft flowing movements, directed breathing and visualization. Foundations set firmly in ancient yogic tradition, Dru works on body, mind and spirit to rejuvenate your whole being.

Improve strength, spinal alignment, flexibility, increase core stability, building a heightened sense of positivity, while bringing a deep state of relaxation. Designed to be practiced by people of all age groups, fitness levels and abilities. Dru yoga aims in creating healing and balance with the combination of asanas (poses), pranayama (breath) activations, energy block releases.

 

Stretch & Core:

Basic stretch & strengthening class to increase flexibility, strength & functionality of the body, while improving spinal & joint flexibility, range of motion, circulation and postural alignment. THE FLOW-YOGA® METHOD OF TRAINING FLUIDLY LINKS HATHA YOGA POSTURES (ASANAS) TOGETHER IN A SAFE AND EFFECTIVE WAY.

Classes emphasize flexibility, strength, endurance, athletic performance, balance, and postural alignment, both with or and without the traditional use of the Sun Salutation.

The classes also incorporate deep breathing, focus, mindfulness and relaxation leaving you feeling revitalised and refreshed with overall sense of wellness.
