What is Yoga? The word yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word 'Yuj', meaning 'to yolk' or 'to join. Yoga is an ancient science based on universal principles, the laws of nature. Yoga is powerful, transformative and life enhancing, as valuable today as it was 5000 years ago. The effect of yoga is one of "bringing together", yoga harmonises the relationship between all our separate aspects. The inherent intelligence of Yoga lies in its ability to bring body, breath and mind into union, integration, a balanced harmonious state. The ultimate goal of yoga is to enliven natural wellbeing and awaken consciousness, connection of Self with divine essence.

“Yoga is the settling of mind into silence. When mind has settled, we are established in essential nature, which is unbounded consciousness.” Patanjali
