Dynamic Yoga
Dynamic Yoga is an Iyengar inspired flowing style with emphasis on strength, balance and grace.
About
Combining the heart of Sivananda Yoga with the precision of Iyengar and the Astanga flow, Dynamic Yoga will care for the mind, body and spirit.
Christina has been devoted to yoga since 1977 and trained with the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in London, in 1986. After 500 hours teacher training, she has continued to study under many leading Iyengar yoga teachers, including the Mehta family in the London Iyengar Center.
After returning to her home town of Adelaide, she studied under senior Iyengar teachers before finally visiting Mr Iyengar in 1988, for 4 months. Shandor Remete and his teachers have had a lasting effect on Christina's style and practice.
Her strong, vinyasa style pays acute attention to precision in alignment, safety in postures and uses props to improve symmetry, where necessary. Christina gives individual attention and modifies postures according each students' need.
Dynamic Yoga provides a great strength and flexibility workout with emphasis on graceful vinyasas between poses. Students are encouraged to focus on their breathing whilst maintaining maximum effort.
Christina is also a practicing Registered Nurse and specialises in back and injury care, including yoga for rehabilitation and injury prevention. She also has a special interest in increasing flexibility for athletes.
The classes are 90 minutes beginning with pranayama and concluding with a guided relaxation.
