My yoga style is an eclectic mix of styles that have influenced me over the last 35 years including:
I gained my initial qualification as a Hatha Yoga Level I instructor through Yoga Trinity in 2007 then did Advanced Vinyasa Flow Yoga instructor training with Yoga Trinity in 2009. I have done further training with Mark Whitwell and Byron Yoga Centre. I am a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Australia.
I have done many other things in my life as well. I have a diploma in horticulture, a degree in ecology and a masters degree in leadership. During my 25 year professional career I worked in conservation, environment, horticulture, natural resources, national parks, botanic gardens, Aboriginal affairs, planning, management and communications.
These days I run my small yoga studio in the south coast and travel to northern Australia in winter to run wonderful retreats, and in between I am also a civil marriage celebrant doing beautiful weddings in beautiful places.
My personal yoga practice is a vital part of my life - bringing me focus, energy, flexibility, inner and outer strength, stillness, calm, connection and spiritual sense. I trained as a yoga teacher in 2007 as I wanted to share the joys and benefits of yoga with others.
I am taken with the concept of pilgrimage, a spiritual journey, and love to travel on pilgrimage to wild bush and beach places around Australia. I am very excited to be offering another series of yoga earth retreats in 2013, taking others to reconnect to earth, water, fire, air and spirit in awe inspiring natural environments.
