Retreat Testimonials

The yoga retreat I enjoyed at Radiant Sun Yoga was a remarkable journey.  Catherine takes the yoga experience well beyond the confines of the yoga mat to encompass the beach, the forest, the energy flows in nature, poetry and visualisation.  There was also fine food, great hospitality and new friendships. I left there with an altered and more expansive appreciation of yoga and its power to transform.

The retreat was amazing, energising, uplifting and nourishing.

I feel that the retreat opened my heart and my connection to myself, through deepening my connection to my practice, the natural environment and the yoga community. The highlights of the weekend were practicing yoga in the natural environment, including while watching the sunrise, broadening my understanding of yoga philosophy, learning about a variety of different practices and meeting new and wonderful people. Oh, and the food is not only nutritious but the best I’ve ever had on a retreat! The weekend was a deeply healing experience and I highly recommend the retreat to anyone, whether you are just discovering yoga or have been practicing for a long time.

Catherine is a very knowledgeable, experienced, unpretentious and lovely yoga teacher, who seems to be in tune with what people need. By the end of this retreat I felt very relaxed and peaceful and realised that I can translate these feelings to my everyday life.

 Location venue accommodation and food

The retreat will be held at Broulee, a village on the south coast of NSW. Broulee is famous for its beautiful beaches and bushland. It is located in the Eurobodalla Shire – also known as “land of many waters” because of its many natural lakes, estuaries, rivers, creeks and marine waters. It is a perfect place to get back in touch with the earth, the sun, the ocean and the sky.

Only 160kms from Canberra and 280kms south of Sydney, Broulee is an easy drive for a weekend escape. For more information about Broulee and the Eurobodalla Shire see - www.eurobodalla.com.au

The venue for the retreat will be the beautiful Broulee Yoga Shed - broulee-yoga-shed    This is a purpose-built, light-filled garden studio, only a short stroll to the beach and creek. Activities will also be undertaken at the beach, waterways and in nearby bushland.

Accommodation for the retreat will be in beach houses at and nearby the Yoga Shed. Twin share or single rooms available.

Gourmet healthy meals are provided all weekend by our own wonderful in-house chef. She caters for all dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Past participants have rated the food as one of the highlights of the retreat!

Who is the retreat suitable for?

The retreat is suitable for anyone with an interest in participating in yoga, unwinding and getting back in touch with nature. It’s for those who yearn to spend more time with the elements, walk on the sand, watch the sunrise over the ocean, be in the bush, swim in the sea. It’s for those who feel stressed out, who want to find some inner quiet and learn new ways to relax.

It’s particularly suitable for those who attend regular yoga classes but would like to have more time to explore more deeply what yoga is about, including the philosophy and esoteric teachings of yoga, and to engage more intensively in a range of yoga practices such as breath connection, chakra energising, dynamic and restorative postures,  and guided meditations.

But you don’t have to have done yoga before - beginners are also welcome.   We will be doing physical yoga practice and walking so you need an average level of health and physical capacity but you won’t be expected to do yoga gymnastics.   I work on the philosophy that “if you can breathe you can do yoga”. Everyone works at their own level - it’s all about finding your own yoga that’s right for you.
