Our Sunday afternoon class is level 1 and is FREE for first timers at Kookaburra Centre.
This 90 min class is divided into 2 equal parts. The first part includes the Vinyasa approach to Hatha Yoga which emphasis the connection of breath to movement to cultivate a graceful flowing practice. The second half of this class is Yoga Nidra, a long guided lying down relaxation.
Learn active yoga asanas/poses to strengthen and excite your muscles and fire up the neurological pathways and energy centres. Build core, thigh and glute strength, get the spine range moving and bring pelvic control into your flow and balance work, before winding down with some mat based postures and a restorative approach to take you into 45 minutes of Yoga Nidra.
The second part of the class will be a guided meditation - Yoga Nidra. The practice was first documented in 1981 by the Swami Satyananda Saraswati lineage. Yoga Nidra is now growing rapidly as a yoga tool that people, globally are using to focus at deeper levels of the mind and maintain connection with those parts more effortlessly.
Booking are not required. Your first class is free, thereafter usual class fees apply.
