Meditation is an ancient skill that can be learnt in modern times. Traditionally meditation was used to overcome mental suffering, and is now being used to overcome stress, anxiety and depresssion. This workshop will help you explore your capacity to relax quickly, slow your thinking, increase your clarity and self awareness.

Come and learn meditation tools and techniques for stress such as:

  • How the body's natural relaxation response is a powerful antidote to stress
  • The difference between the "stressed mind" and the "meditation mind"
  • How to reduce tension and stress with simple techniques
  • How to increase overall health and wellness by reducing issues such as high blood pressure, hypertension and insomnia
  • How the practice of mindfulness can cultivate healthy mind states

Lesley Gough

Lesley was drawn to meditation through her yoga practice and as a way of managing a chronic pain condition. She has completed a meditation teacher training course with the Melbourne Meditation Centre and continues to be influenced by a variety of teachers and traditions. She teaches meditation as a practical tool to assist us to "tune into" ourselves for better balance and self-awareness.
