Are you interested in becoming a yoga teacher? Perhaps yoga asana isn't for you, but you are interested in becoming a meditation teacher? Maybe you are already a yoga teacher, and wish to extend your knowledge on anatomy and asana? Or perhaps further your qualifications with a post-graduate course? This is an information evening designed to give you all the information about ACCY courses, and to answer any questions you may have. So come along to the information evening and meet Swami Shantananda, Rob and Sarasvati, as well as some current and previous students who have already undertaken the courses! A cuppa and light supper will also be provided. Places are limited, so please call for a booking.

What courses does ACCY offer?

Diploma of Classical Yoga:

This is a one-year teacher training program that gives the student excellent training in the ability to teach Yoga and also in personal development. If you undertake the Classical Yoga Teacher Training, you will also explore the enquiry into the experience of life, being, and reality, defined by the Yoga Sutras. You will learn how to pracitse and teach all the eight Limbes of Yoga.

For professional or personal development:

These courses are aimed more for professional development for yoga teachers who wish to upgrade their understanding, or for those who wish to undertake the course for personal interest or development. Holding one of these certificates alone will not qualify you to be a Yoga teacher, for that you need the Diploma of Classical Yoga (above).

Diploma of Classical Still-mind Meditation:

This is a one year course entailing a thorough study and practice of still-mind mediation and its implications fo life and enlightenment. You will study the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, as well as look at some other Yogic texts, and explore them in depth, along with some elements of cognitive psychology and modern meditative practices. You will develop a deep understanding of both practicing and teaching Classical meditation, as well as become confident in your ability to teach it to others. January intake only.

Certificate of Classical Yoga:

A thorough study of meditation, yogic philosophy, and the Sutras. This course is ideal for those who wish to teach the wisdom teachings of Yoga, but have no wish, or require further time to develop, the stretching and bending aspects of Yoga, or perhaps those who are already yoga teachers but wish to further develop the deeper aspects of Yoga, or professional development or as a prelude to further study.

Certificate of Asana and Anatomy:

This is a one year teacher training program focusing on delivering Asana to others, in the context of a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology applied to movement within asana. Suited to current teachers who do not have training in the anatomy and physiology of asana, and wish to fill that gap, students who have completed the Certificate of Classical Yoga and wish to covert to the full Yoga Teachers Diploma.

If you are interested in these courses, you are, of course, welcome to come to the information night! However, these courses have differing requirements and a personal interview is usually expected.
