John Ogilvie is one of Australia’s most respected and experienced teachers, and founder of Byron Bay’s long-time yoga school, Byron Yoga Centre, now celebrating its 23rd year. John’s classes are a celebration of life - fun and dynamic, bringing out your inner joy.
John has been practicing yoga for 30 years and teaching for 25. He had 20 years of disciplined training in the Iyengar method, and also during this time included 6 years of a steady Astanga practice and maintained a dedicated daily practice of both pranayama and meditation.
Purna yoga means integrated and complete. This strong, dynamic workshop will focus on building strength. Using a power sequence the arms, shoulders, core and pelvic floor will be strengthened while the bandhas, or locks, will be activated.John will show you how to progress from the most basic balances and move safely toward arm balances. This sequence will encourage students at all levels to build strength and stamina of body, mind and spirit. You’ll find yourself safely experimenting with some of the more challenging yoga postures with a smile and an attitude of fun and joy!
