NEW CLASS 4-5pm Saturday 27th February, 5th March, a 3 week break then 2nd April and onwards.
Return to, reinforce or begin yoga in a safe, comfortable class.
“If you can breathe you can do yoga” Sri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya
This is a class for those who are more reticent about physical movement due to injury, lack of fitness or a perception that yoga is not for them.
It’s not really about age but this could be considered a class for ‘seniors’ or older people.
Classes are adapted to students’ needs – delivered via demonstration and clear instructions.
You will be guided through a series of gentle movements and foundation postures which stretch your limbs, deepen your breathing and relax your mind, at a pace that suits you. For example, postures can be performed from a seated position or with the use of chairs and walls.
Yoga can help you ..
– Maintain and build strength and flexibility.
– Boost respiratory and circulatory systems.
– Recover from injury.
– Improve balance and learn to protect yourself from dips and falls – physical, mental and emotional.
The classes deliver asanas (physical postures), prānāyāma (breath work) and some mediation.
Whether your focus is bodily strength and flexibility or mental relaxation or spiritual development, the benefits of yoga build progressively over time.
