Description

Two 4 hour sessions over one weekend to introduce Yantra Yoga or to deepen a student’s understanding, with an emphasis on the experience of breathing and developing capacity for practice, along with a special focus on practices for balancing internal energies and controlling the energy channels.

This short-course can be undertaken as a stand-alone or as a modular part of a complete program of Yantra Yoga. Participants can expect to gain or deepen a practical understanding of a significant part of the Yantra Yoga system, and to experience first-hand some of its benefits such as harmonious breathing, relaxation, presence, awareness and increased vitality.

Yantra Yoga’s unique series of positions and movements, combined with conscious breathing, can help coordinate and harmonise one’s personal energy so that the mind can relax and find its authentic balance.

This system of Yoga contains a wide range of movements that can be applied by everyone. It is a superb method for attaining optimal health and fitness, relaxation, and balance through the coordination of breath and movement.

Instructor Mathew Long has practiced Yantra Yoga since 1994 and in 2003 was authorised by Chögyal Namkhai Norbu to teach. As part of the Shang Shung Institute Australia's public education program, he presents an open, accessible and inclusive pathway of Yantra Yoga instruction.
