I teach Yantra Yoga, a Yoga of Movement and Breathing deriving from the Tibetan culture.

Yantra Yoga’s unique series of positions and movements, combined with conscious breathing, can help coordinate and harmonise one’s personal energy so that the mind can relax and find its authentic balance.

One of the most ancient recorded systems of yoga in the world, Yantra Yoga was first taught in Tibet in the eighth century. It has been preserved in its unadulterated form to this day, and as an excellent method for attaining optimal health and relaxation is just as relevant for the contemporary world. Emphasising the coordination of breath and movement, Yantra Yoga helps us learn meditation through experience.

I first did a course of Yantra Yoga with teacher Fabio Andrico who was visiting Australia in 1993, and soon after became a student of the master Chögyal Namkhai Norbu. Yantra Yoga became a core practice of mine and I received the First Level Yantra Yoga Diploma in 2003.

I have also trained and coached extensively in sports and the martial arts, especially Judo. Originally a graduate of Anthropology (ANU), that and my practice of Yantra Yoga further inspired me to complete a three-year course in traditional Tibetan Medicine at the Shang Shung Institute (USA).

I have a deep and abiding respect for the effectiveness of the Yantra Yoga system, and feel honoured to teach it.
