Slow your Flow

Let's face it, everyone is busy! Life is busy! But did you know, it is possible to be busy and relaxed at the same time? It takes practice and requires full awareness of intentions. Same too in your yoga practice, you don't need to always be doing completely still postures to find centre and calmness. Fluid movement can be very meditative, calming, healing and energy enhancing. The movements should be done with pure intention and full awareness and mindfulness. Attention to alignment, awareness of breath, bringing the energy into your body, into your feelings, into the moment. With a focus on technique and alignment, we’ll slow down the movement practice (vinyasa) to learn how to seamlessly flow in and out of asana, essentially transitioning into fluid bliss. It’s important to understand that the class is to learn and practice correct alignment in static and moving postures rather than just flapping our yogi wings and taking off anywhere. We can do that too, but we still need to know how to land 😉
