* TEEN SCHOOL YOGA: As well as stretch & tone muscles, my school yoga programme encourages students to explore the movements of their spine & endeavours to bring a better understanding about the benefits of good posture.

There is a section in every session where visualisation & meditation skills are taught to assist the students in stressful times; eg, exams, so they’re able to remain calm & focused.

There is discussion on the importance of proper exercise & diet.

Today's teenagers need help to learn how to de-stress & calm their mind so that they can then think more clearly & cope with the changes & demands that come with being a teenager. This will help their mental, emotional and physical health too.

I designed the programme as an introduction to a good healthy lifestyle that they can continue to practice for a lifetime after they have left school.


* CORPORATE YOGA: The aim of my yoga programme is to bring about an understanding of the value and benefits of yoga that can prevent a lot of health problems over the course of a lifetime. 

The programme is designed to target those niggly, irritating aches and pains we all experience once in a while and at the same time loosen tight muscles, soothe the nervous system and calm the mind.

Practising specific poses in a specific way will help to loosen tight muscles and stiff joints (especially around the shoulders and the lower back areas). Although some poses will naturally create heat in the body it isn’t a case of perspiring to the degree of discomfort. On the contrary, employees emerge refreshed and ready to tackle their tasks with renewed vigour.

There are also breathing & meditation components in the programme whereby breathing techniques & visualisation skills are taught. These components add & compliment the physical practice in the endeavour to relax the body & calm the mind.

My yoga teaching journey:

Over the past 20+ years I’ve been practicing & teaching Iyengar yoga on the Lower North Shore of Sydney, particularly @ Lotus Health Holistic Centre in Neutral Bay for 10 years. Recently, after Lotus Health closed, a colleague & I opened a yoga & well-being centre in the heart of Crows Nest. My classes range from beginner to experienced levels & special needs.

Alongside my public classes I've also taught in the corporate arena in the CBD area of Sydney for 12 years, conducting a well-being yoga programme for IAG employees and more recently @ CCA in North Sydney.

My school yoga programme spans over 2 decades @ North Sydney Girls’ High & 5 years @ Roseville College.

Over the years I’ve taught numerous private classes to students with certain conditions or ailments, helping them to overcome or manage their health issues.

Now living in Port Stephens to be closer to family & friends, I look forward to the opportunity to share my yoga knowledge & experience with the community.
