Description

Ashley will be teaching two, 2 hour Yin Workshops on Sunday 26th October @ THE BERRY YOGA SHALA

Cost $70

INTRODUCTION TO YIN YOGA – FULL BODY LOVE 9.30-11.30AM

The first of these 2 workshops we will concentrate on learning the fundamental principles and understanding of Yin Yoga. We will move deeply into our bodies reaching connective tissues, ligaments, bones and fascia. We will explore how to find patience and mindfulness holding the poses for longer, and how to use the breath to work deeper into the poses. We will discover how meridian lines work and to “unblock” chi/prana/energy stagnation within the energetic body. This workshop will create lightness, freedom and openness in mind body and heart and showing the “yumminess” of Yin in this slow, gentle and relaxed way.

SPRING INTO SUMMER! 1.00-3.00PM

The second 2 hour workshop will focus on the meridians associated with spring and summer. So as we clear out our lives and move towards the heat of summer will be concentrating on the Liver, Gallbladder, Heart and Small Intestine meridian lines. Spring is the season for new beginnings and we will be lifting any sluggishness from the cooler months as we move into summer. We will literally be spring cleaning our meridian lines to boost our immune systems and make you physically and mentally flexible to move into the lighter seasons and enjoy the sunshine.

At the end of these workshops you will leave feeling YINTASTIC !

WHAT IS YIN YOGA?

Yin Yoga is a very gentle form of yoga that can be practised by anyone at any level. During a Yin Yoga Practice we hold the poses for much longer (between 3-5 minutes and sometimes even longer) which can make the poses themselves quite dynamic. Yin Yoga is practiced in a very slow, relaxed and careful way without using the muscles that stabilize the joints, enabling you to hold the poses for much longer and allowing the denser tissues to open up and find space within the body.

ABOUT THE TEACHER – ASH BOND.

Ashley is a free-spirited adventure seeking yogini, who has been practicing yoga for 20 years and teaching for over 10. Drawn to more dynamic “Yang” yoga styles such as Ashtanga and Iyengar, Ashely is now embarking on a new yoga path since arriving in Sydney a couple of years ago. She discovered that Yin Yoga complemented her Dynamic Yang practice.

“It is a deep and powerful practice and I have been seeing first-hand the benefits”.

Ashley trained as a Yin Teacher with Mysan Sibdo at Qi Yoga in Manly, where she is also currently teaching. Ashley would recommend anyone with a Hatha Yoga practice to combine with the Yin style at least once a week.

Ashley has taught all over the world including India, Thailand, UK, Iceland, Spain and Greece.

“I have been lucky enough to share my passion and knowledge of yoga all over the world and like to think that I bring in my sense of fun and light-heartedness into all of my classes and look forward to meeting you”!
