YOGA NIDRA is a highly powerful ancient sleep-based meditation technique originated from the ancient yogic scriptures. Yoga Nidra uses the biological process of sleep to enter an evolutionary state of consciousness where one can awaken to their true nature. Every night when we sleep, we must do one thing; let go of our thoughts. Consciously entering this twilight zone between waking and sleeping enables us to rest more and more as the space of being beyond the mind, and less and less as the mind itself. Yoga Nidra is one of the most profound and direct channels for accelerated awakening, physical and emotional healing and the management of insomnia, stress, burnout, anxiety, depression and a host of physical diseases that result. Yoga Nidra transforms through the principle of density. Working with the body and mind is like working with a block of ice. Working with energy and subtle realms of consciousness reveals that that which appears dense and difficult to change in the waking state is malleable and easy to change in subtle realms of dream-like consciousness –like water.

This training is a fascinating journey into the origins and true purpose of yoga as well as applications to modern illnesses. This transformational yoga nidra training is designed to give you a profound understanding of yoga nidra as an ancient technology designed to solve the pitfalls of the human experience. Kamini is the Education Director of the Amrit Yoga Institute USA. Author of the acclaimed book, Life Lessons Love Lessons, she has created an exciting and versatile body of teaching which uniquely combines western psychology and eastern philosophy. Considered an expert in the field of yoga nidra (the ancient yogic art of sleep- based meditation) Kamini lectures and trains extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe. Her Yoga Nidra CD's are used in both correctional and mental facilities in the U.S.. John Vosler is a Senior Teacher of the Yoga Nidra professional training at the Amrit Yoga institute USA. A graduate of the highly acclaimed Institute of Psycho Structural Balancing, his lifelong education in the field of holistic healthcare includes a BA in human development, the study of Applied Kinesiology at the Kinesiology Institute, and programs in CranioSacral and SomatoEmotional Release Therapy at John Upledger's Upledger Institute International. With a strong background in anatomy, functional movement and body mechanics, his private bodywork, yoga, and pilates practice has been thriving in Los Angeles for over twenty years.

Materials Provided

  • Yoga Nidra Manual & Yoga Nidra CD.
  • Yoga Nidra Cards (for certification students only)

No experience necessary — just bring an open mind and a willingness to learn.

What to bring:

  • Wear comfortable clothing.
  • Bring a yoga mat and whatever you need to sit and lie on the floor or in a chair comfortably. Some blankets, pillows, chairs will be available, but enough for everyone is not guaranteed.
  • We will do yoga nidra at least twice a day. Bring whatever you may need to lie down comfortably (sitting against the wall or in a chair is also an option).
  • Bring snacks
  • Bring water in a container with a sealable lid
  • Bring a notebook and pen.
