For those of you who have never tried yoga before and would like to know what it’s all about, this is for you! Alternatively, if you have been away from yoga and meditation and would like a refresher course then this is a perfect way of getting back into the swing of things.
Over 4 weeks we will teach you various gentle yoga postures, breathing techniques relaxation and meditation. You will gain an understanding of the benefits of yoga for the mind, body and soul and begin to experience the benefits of a regular yoga practice. Our Absolute Beginners Course class size is small and people of all shapes, sizes and most fitness levels can join these classes. As everyone else in the course will be a beginner, you will not feel intimidated or overwhelmed. The class is just what the name says- For Absolute Beginners.
All you need is to wear clothing you can move easily in, preferably clothing where you can see your wrist, ankle and knee joints as this helps with your alignment. Bring a yoga mat and a water bottle. We practice yoga bare feet, so no special footwear is required.
4x one hour and fifteen minutes classes that introduce you to the hatha yoga practice including deep meditationand relaxation , breathing techniques to calm and clear the mind and asana (yoga postures) for strength and suppleness. Class numbers are limited giving you more one on one time with the Instructors
We will teach you the foundations of Yoga in a safe and non-threatening environment, where everyone else is a beginner. No you don't need to be flexible to start, but from the first class you will feel benefits. The most common remark we hear within a couple of weeks is "I feel wonderful and very relaxed".
People often also remark that they had the most wonderful sleep after last week's class.
What if I miss a beginners Yoga class?
You can attend a make up Beginners Yoga/Gentle Yoga class on any day within the 4-week term that you're enrolled in.
What if I am really stiff and inflexible?
If you are inflexible you will benefit greatly from practicing yoga. Your teachers will offer variations and modifications that will help you learn at your own pace
