Kundalini House, Fitzroy North, now offers Restorative Yoga, a practice dedicated to constructive rest. It emphasises being rather than doing to provide an experience of the benefits of mindfully resting the body. Restorative practice makes extensive use of yoga props to create a fully supported practice that allows students to rest deeply into the restorative postures, without physical or mental stress. Classes include passive poses, supported inversions & mindful relaxation.
Care & attention is given to individual needs to ensure that the practice meets & supports your body & nourishes your energy. Students are also guided to engage in self-inquiry & to develop self-care. These classes are informed by Body Mind Centering; a bodywork practice that includes experiential anatomy & developmental movement patterns. In BMC, learning to rest mindfully becomes the basis for evolving gradually into sustainable action.
