Description

Bryan Kest’s Master Classes are strong, yet well-rounded, simple yet physical practices that will leave every nook and cranny in your body vibrating with vitality.

While strengthening the physical body, Bryan’s classes also challenge our minds - in the sense where we strengthen the qualities of mind that are most useful, positive and powerful, such as calmness, patience, focus, gentleness, gratitude, humility and acceptance. At the same time reducing the qualities of our mind that are harmful and stress-inducing, such as judgement, competitiveness, distraction, reaction and criticism.

We welcome Bryan for three masterclasses delivering both philosophical teaching and a powerful practice. 'Power Yoga' and 'Long Slow Deep' on Saturday 18th August, followed by an expansion on 'Power Yoga' on Sunday 19th August.

Power Yoga Master Class - Saturday 18th August - 11.00am-1.30pm

This class is dynamic yet accessible to everyone, and will work you from inside out. Every moment in this class will be a chance for you to cultivate the qualities of mind that will help you in all areas of your life.

Long Slow Deep Master Class - Saturday 18th August 5.00pm-7.30pm

A deep and potent alternative to the myriad of Vinyasa and flowing Hatha yoga classes. Long Slow Deep is a practice for people who want an alternative to being physically active, yet still desire the benefits of yoga. Holding poses for longer, massaging the deep areas of the hips, groin, hamstrings and shoulders, this class will rinse out the tight spots and leave you with a feeling of deep release through your whole body. If you enjoy Yin Yoga, or just need to slow down a little, this is the practice for you!

About Bryan:

Born in 1964, Bryan Kest has been practicing yoga since 1979, starting when he was 14 years old. He initially studied in Hawaii with David Williams, the first person to bring Ashtanga yoga to America. He then studied in India with K. Pattabhi Jois, the main proponent of Ashtanga yoga. Bryan Kest has been teaching yoga since 1985. “My primary objective”, says Kest, “besides turning more and more people on to a healthier, more peaceful lifestyle that continually challenges them to grow, is to teach a system of exercise that fully integrates the body, mind, and spirit. The new trend towards yoga is not surprising, given that the body is limited and the mind is limitless. The combination of body and mind creates an incredibly broad range of fulfillment, including top physical condition and a calm, peaceful, clear mind.”
